Ampang MP says she was not told of parliamentary coordinator's appointment

Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail says she was not informed beforehand of the appointment of a parliamentary coordinator for her constituency.

"One of my officers informed me after the official statement was posted on PKR's Facebook page," she told FMT.

A day earlier, Azman said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had entrusted him with the role to ensure that government initiatives are delivered in a more organised, efficient and effective manner.

He said he would liaise with the Prime Minister's Department's implementation and coordination unit, as well as other government agencies, to ensure the more efficient delivery of government initiatives.

The development came after Rodziah found herself barred from accessing the MyKhas portal, which manages special funding for constituencies, on July 29.

She asked whether this was linked to her presence at the launch of Bersama in May, and expressed confusion, saying she was still a PKR member and had never opposed any government policy or law in Parliament.

Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung and Subang MP Wong Chen, who also attended the Bersama launch, were similarly barred from accessing the MyKhas system.

Anwar has played down the matter, saying their lack of access did not mean their constituents would miss out on approved development projects.
