PKR MP Rodziah claims her constituency allocation access blocked

Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail has claimed that her access to constituency allocations has been blocked, disrupting the management of aid for vulnerable groups in her area.

She said the move affected funds for senior citizens, persons with disabilities (OKU), chronically ill patients and local institutions under the Projek Mesra Rakyat (PMR) programme.

Rodziah said she remained a PKR member and part of the bloc supporting the government and its unity government policies, and had never opposed the party throughout her 28 years of service.

"This shows favouritism when six opposition MPs who declared support for the unity government received allocations, but I myself was denied," she said in a video recording posted on Facebook. (Translated from Malay)

She said no official explanation had been received over the withdrawal of the allocation, despite an official letter being sent to the Prime Minister's Office.

"If there is a technical issue or whatever it may be, I ask for clarification so that I can explain it to the people," she said.

Rodziah insisted that any pressure applied would not weaken her resolve to continue serving.

"The Ampang Parliamentary Service Centre will remain open, and services to the people will continue to be strengthened. I will continue to defend the principles of reform, accountability and responsibility, and place the interests of the people above all else," she said.

Earlier, Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung and Subang MP Wong Chen were reported to have claimed they lost access to constituency allocations through the myKHAS system.

Lee claimed the restriction affected matters relating to constituency allocations and PMR, while questioning whether it was linked to political factors.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, however, rejected the claims, stressing instead that allocations were channelled directly to communities and development projects.
