PETALING JAYA – A dentist has drawn public attention after revealing that he drives for an e-hailing service once his shift ends, despite having run his own dental clinic for the past six years.

The dentist, who uses the handle @Dr_syedzaf on social media, said he begins his "second shift" as an e-hailing driver as soon as his clinic closes at 6pm.

He said the side job brings in between RM1,000 and RM1,500 a week, which he considers pocket money, while his clinic income remains untouched.

"I recently got my licence to do e-hailing. Previously I closed the clinic at 10pm, but now I finish my shift at 6pm and then continue with e-hailing," he said in remarks translated from Malay.

He admitted he would rather his passengers did not know what he does for a living.

"If possible, I really won't tell passengers that I am a dentist. If I tell them, they would surely be shocked," he said.

The dentist said he aims to collect only about RM120 a day before heading home, and is grateful that his wife understands his decision to take on the extra work.

"I'm lucky because my wife understands. I target just RM120 a day, then I go home. Are there other doctors like me?" he asked. – KOSMO! ONLINE
