KLANG: Two people have been detained to assist investigations into a podcast recording said to have touched on issues of religion, race and the royal institution (3R).
North Klang police chief Ramsay Embol said those held were a freelance emcee and a businessman, aged in their 30s and 60s respectively.
Both were detained yesterday after police received a report on Wednesday over the content.
"Police received a report on a video clip, that is a podcast made by two individuals discussing the issue of secular and liberal ideology.
"The video clip was uploaded via a social media platform, with the podcast content touching on issues of religion, race and the royal institution (3R)," he said in a statement, as reported by Bernama. (Quote translated from Bahasa Melayu.)
The case is being investigated under Sections 298, 504 and 505(b) of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948.

Ramsay also urged the public not to speculate or spread information that could affect the investigation.
