PUTRAJAYA – Two Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) officers, Muhammad Aiman Mohd Anuar and Nur Nadhirah Zunaidi, have been appointed as RakanKPT for the 2026/2027 session to help deliver the national higher education agenda to the public accurately, swiftly and based on facts.
Muhammad Aiman is an Agriculture Officer while Nur Nadhirah is an Assistant Veterinary Officer at the Putra Agriculture Centre, UPM.
The appointments were announced at the RakanKPT Strengthening Workshop Series 1 of 2026, officiated by Higher Education Ministry (KPT) secretary-general Datuk Ts Dr Aminuddin Hassim in Putrajaya recently.
They are among 50 individuals appointed as RakanKPT, comprising two representatives from every public university as well as 10 representatives from the Polytechnic and Community College Education Department (JPPKK).
Aminuddin said RakanKPT serve as strategic links who bring information on policies, aid, programmes, initiatives and higher education opportunities closer to the community.
"RakanKPT are not merely disseminating information, but must become a two-way communication bridge between KPT and the public. Every piece of information must be conveyed clearly, ethically and based on facts from official sources," he said.
"Their ability to reach the community through social media is crucial to ensure the higher education agenda is understood right down to the grassroots level," he added. (Quotes translated from Malay.)
