Motorcyclist killed on LDP after swerving to avoid stalled van, hit by another bike
Police say the Honda Vario rider fell into the middle lane at KM23.9 and was struck seconds later by a Yamaha Y15ZR.

SERDANG – A motorcyclist died at Kilometre 23.9 of the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) today after trying to avoid a van that had stopped in the left lane, only to fall and be run over by another motorcycle.
The crash occurred at about 1.06pm. The victim, who was riding a Honda Vario, was pronounced dead at the scene from severe injuries.
Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Farid Ahmad said police received a report of an accident involving a Mitsubishi L300 van and two motorcycles at the location.
Initial investigations found that the van had stopped in the leftmost of four lanes after it was believed to have been involved in an earlier collision with another vehicle.
"The Honda Vario, ridden by a man coming from the same direction, is believed to have tried to avoid the van but failed, skidding and falling in the middle lane.
"Seconds later, a Yamaha Y15ZR coming from behind was unable to swerve in time and hit the victim, who was lying on the road, before its rider also fell," he said in a statement today. (Quotes translated from Malay.)
He said the victim was confirmed dead at the scene, while the Yamaha Y15ZR rider suffered shoulder injuries and is receiving treatment at Hospital Serdang.
"The driver of the Mitsubishi L300 van was not injured," he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and further investigations are ongoing.
Muhamad Farid urged anyone with information on the incident to contact the traffic investigating officer at the Serdang district police headquarters or the nearest police station to assist the investigation.
