PETALING JAYA – The New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) was hit by severe congestion following a fatal crash that occurred at midday.

According to posts shared by users on Threads, the accident involved a motorcyclist just before the Setia Alam toll exit.

The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said the middle lane and the emergency lane were closed following the crash at KM5.9 southbound, from Shah Alam towards Setia Alam.

A social media user, Mahmud Fahrurrazi, advised motorists to seek alternative routes.

"NKVE users heading to Setia Alam can look for alternative roads, as there is a fatal accident involving a motorcyclist before the Setia Alam toll exit. Condolences to the victim's family, I am a little traumatised seeing so much blood flowing on the road surface," he said in a post translated from Malay.

Another user, identified as Najmi Latif, said the crash meant only one lane was open to traffic on the expressway.

Comments on the post indicated that the congestion also affected traffic movement on the Elite Highway.

"The jam reached Elite, when I passed the victim had been covered up. May things be made easy," said a user known as Mizzbada.

"Only just got through, after an hour," said Sya Rostam.

No further details on the victim's identity or the cause of the crash had been released at the time of reporting.
