More bones believed to be human remains found in sack in Behor Mali

KANGAR – More bones believed to be part of a human skeleton were found inside a decayed sack on a riverbank behind a house in Behor Mali here today.

The discovery comes within about two weeks of the first human remains found in the area, which was reported on July 26.

Witness Roslan Md. Isa, 61, said he was clearing the backyard of the house with a friend when he spotted several fairly long bones inside the rotting sack.

"I was spraying weedkiller and cleaning the backyard with a friend when I saw several fairly long bones in a decayed sack on the riverbank at about 11am," he told reporters at the scene today. (Quote translated from Malay.)

"The moment I saw the bones, I remembered the discovery of human remains in a nearby orchard, so I immediately contacted the Simpang Empat police station to report it," he added.

Roslan said he had bought the land only about two months ago, and that the area was previously covered in thick undergrowth and scrub.

Checks by Kosmo! found that the latest discovery site is only about 200 metres from where the first set of human remains was found, as reported on July 26.

The find drew a crowd of onlookers after members of the public noticed a team of police and forensic personnel conducting investigations at the location.
