Missing man found dead in drain in Bagan Datuk after motorcycle skids

BAGAN DATUK – The skeletal remains of a 35-year-old man have been found in a drain together with a motorcycle believed to have skidded off the road at the scene.
Bagan Datuk police chief Mohammad Ali Mohd Jali said police received information about the case at 3.39pm after cleaning workers who were cutting grass at the location detected a foul smell, before finding the human remains along with a motorcycle in the drain.
Initial investigations indicated that the victim was riding alone from the direction of Teluk Intan towards Sabak Bernam before veering off to the left side of the road and falling into the drain, he said.
"The victim did not receive any help until (the discovery of the remains) was noticed," he said in a statement, as reported by Bernama.
Also found with the victim were personal belongings including a mobile phone, a Malaysian passport and cash believed to belong to him.
Mohammad Ali said further checks found that a police report on the man's disappearance had been lodged by his family members at the Teluk Intan police station on Aug 5.
