KOTA BHARU – Film and television actor Kamarool Hj. Yusoff, better known as Cik Man, died this afternoon.
The actor, best remembered for his roles in the films Rock and Rock Oo, died at 5.15pm while receiving treatment at Tanah Merah Hospital.
He had earlier been admitted to the hospital due to a heart problem.
Local actor and comedian Amir Raja Lawak shared the news of the 65-year-old actor's passing on social media.
"May the late Kamarool be placed among the faithful," he said, in remarks translated from Malay.
Besides Gila-Gila Remaja, the actor was also popular for his portrayal of Chomprak, a Siamese witch doctor, in the film Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah, among many other works.
His death leaves a gap in the local entertainment industry, particularly in comedy, a genre he helped colour with his memorable characters. – UTUSAN
