PETALING JAYA – Veteran actor Kamarool Haji Yusoff, better known as Cik Man, died at about 5pm today at the age of 67.

His second son, Fakhrol Aliff, confirmed that his father breathed his last at Hospital Tanah Merah in Kelantan.

"I had just gone home, I think it was around 5pm. I went home to shower after watching over my father, then my sister called and told me to come to the hospital because he was gone," he told Kosmo! Online when contacted.

Fakhrol said his father had complained of stomach pain for several days before he was sedated in the intensive care unit (ICU) yesterday due to blocked heart arteries.

"My father wasn't seriously ill before this. The last time he had a heart attack was two years ago. After that, all his heart checks came back clear, but he often had something like gastric problems. He was in a bad state yesterday," he said.

"He complained of pain, but it was gastric, stomach pain and back pain. Like wind. So when we asked him to go to the hospital he refused. Yesterday, he really could not bear it anymore." (Quotes translated from Malay.)

Fakhrol said he did not yet have details on the funeral arrangements.

Cik Man made his screen debut as Farouk in the film Gila-Gila Remaja. The name Farouk, synonymous with him among fans of the 1980s, was later replaced by Cik Man — his character's name in Rock Oo, directed by the late Mamat Khalid.
