Selangor MCA Youth says 'allocation grab' clashes with PH's reform pledge

SHAH ALAM — Selangor MCA Youth has claimed that the practice of "sakau-menyakau" (grabbing) government allocations contradicts the reform principles Pakatan Harapan (PH) championed while in opposition.
Its chief, Tan Jie Sen, said using government allocations as a tool to control or punish MPs who are not aligned with the party leadership was improper.
He was responding to claims that access to the MyKhas portal — the system used to manage constituency development allocations — had been blocked for several PKR MPs.
"Not only the Petaling Jaya parliamentary seat, but Ampang and Subang suffered the same fate when the MPs there could not access MyKhas.
"More shockingly, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also appointed his political secretary as the 'Ampang area coordinator' to handle all matters concerning government allocations," he said.
Tan said he was also given to understand that in Petaling Jaya, responsibility for managing allocations had been handed to the PKR division chief there.
"This is very shocking because this should be handled by the elected representatives in their respective areas. Will every parliamentary constituency have a coordinator appointed by the Prime Minister?" he asked.
He said PKR's internal problems were clearly affecting the interests and welfare of residents in the affected areas.
"Misusing government allocations as a 'weapon' to punish MPs who are not aligned is not right," he said.
Tan urged the Prime Minister to give an explanation and restore MyKhas portal access as well as the authority to manage allocations to the MPs involved.
"These government allocations are the people's right and should not be used to serve the personal vendetta agenda of any political party or individual," he said.
Earlier, Subang MP Wong Chen, Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung and Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail were the three who lost access to their MyKhas portals.
Lee and Wong had previously claimed the move might be linked to their political leanings alongside former PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli, who now leads Bersama together with former PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad. Rodziah is also seen as a Rafizi ally.
