PUTRAJAYA – The former group chief financial officer (CFO) of a company owned by a statutory body arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here to have her statement recorded over the purchase of shares in two plantation companies worth RM370 million.
The woman turned up to assist investigations linked to the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji.
She arrived at the MACC office in a black sport utility vehicle (SUV) at 11.40am.
So far, three individuals have been called in to assist in the investigation, including two who were detained yesterday.
Kosmo! previously reported that a former chief executive officer (CEO) and a former CFO of the statutory body-owned company were detained when they turned up at the MACC office to assist investigations.
The two individuals, aged 68 and 60, are believed to have abused their power in the process of acquiring shares in the two plantation companies valued at RM370 million.
According to an MACC source, both were detained while giving their statements at the MACC headquarters here at about 6.30pm yesterday.
MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman was reported as saying that the case is being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.
The arrests followed investigations by a special task force set up to review and scrutinise the findings of the Tabung Haji RCI report, which was made public through the official portal of the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia on July 29.
