PETALING JAYA – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today resumed recording the statement of a former chief financial officer (CFO) of a company owned by a statutory body, to assist investigations into alleged abuse of power in the purchase of shares in two plantation companies worth about RM370 million.
The session was held at MACC headquarters here and lasted more than six hours.
However, only the former CFO turned up, while the former chief executive officer (CEO) did not attend due to health reasons.
MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said the former senior officer arrived at MACC headquarters at about 10.30am.
"Today is the second day this individual's statement is being recorded after he was released yesterday," he said in a statement.
"The recording of the statement was continued to complete the ongoing investigation into the findings of the Tabung Haji Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report, and it ended at about 5pm."
He said the statement recording would resume tomorrow at 10am.
The MACC probe stems from findings in the Tabung Haji RCI report. No charges have been announced in the commission's statement in relation to the individuals involved.
