Sanusi: PN-BN cooperation in Melaka to hinge on current political climate

ALOR SETAR – The form of cooperation between Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) in Melaka will be decided based on the waqi', or the current political situation in the state, ahead of the coming state election.
PAS election director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said PN had yet to decide on the shape of the cooperation to be adopted for the polls.
"Tok Guru (Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang) has spoken about this cooperation. BN has also mentioned cooperation, but the form has not been determined. The nature of Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Melaka is not the same.

Sanusi said the party was optimistic about the tie-up based on the outcome of the Negeri Sembilan state election, in which BN and PN managed to break into areas that had previously been difficult to win, and even increased their vote tally in several seats.
"In places where DAP had long held seats in Negeri Sembilan, we were able to break through, without losing our deposits as before.
"Even in places DAP won, we were able to add to our vote count, and people can see what is happening now. We hope the situation in Melaka will be better," he said.
