After 26 Years, Khadijah Ibrahim Returns With New Single 'Ibu Doa'

Malaysian music legend Dato' Khadijah Ibrahim has returned with a new single titled Ibu Doa, her first new recorded work in more than two decades.

According to Murai, the comeback of the veteran singer is more than just a new release, coming at a time when the music scene is in constant flux.

A song about a mother's endless love

As its title suggests, Ibu Doa centres on the love of a mother who prays for her children at all hours. Themes of sacrifice, affection and prayer as a shield in life are translated into lyrics said to be close to everyday life.

The song is produced by Jasmine Raj Production, with lyrics and melody written by Baizura Tazri. The musical arrangement was handled by music director Syam Swardy Daud together with a line-up of experienced musicians who gave the work its emotional depth.

A legacy spanning five decades

Khadijah Ibrahim remains widely known for hits such as Doa Buat Kekasih and Kupendam Sebuah Duka.

Over more than five decades in the industry, she has recorded 18 albums and more than 180 songs that remain popular with fans today.

Murai described Ibu Doa as a work that does not merely chase trends, but one with soul that is capable of connecting listeners across generations.

The single is expected to be released on all digital streaming platforms soon.
