KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will charge 13 company owners in four sessions courts across the country tomorrow over false claims under the Daya Kerjaya 2.0 programme.
According to a press invite sent by the agency, five owners will be charged in the Kota Bharu sessions court in Kelantan, while four will be brought to the Alor Setar sessions court in Kedah.
MACC will also charge two company owners at the Kuantan sessions court in Pahang and two more at the Ipoh sessions court in Perak.
The anti-graft agency said the charges were connected to its Op Daya 2.0 operation, which uncovered false Daya Kerjaya 2.0 claims amounting to RM9.01 million.
In June, MACC chief Abd Halim Aman said investigations found that 143 companies and 320 workers nationwide were linked to the alleged misuse of government funds under the Social Security Organisation's (Socso) initiative in 2024 and 2025.
The programme provided employers with a monthly RM1,500 wage incentive over six months for each eligible worker hired, including persons with disabilities, former prisoners and senior citizens.
MACC found that several companies had declared certain individuals as employees though they did not exist.
The commission has not disclosed the specific charges the 13 owners will face tomorrow.
