MACC Spends Over Six Hours Grilling Ex-CFO in Tabung Haji Probe

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) recorded the statement of Lembaga Tabung Haji's former chief financial officer for more than six hours at its headquarters, as part of a probe into alleged abuse of power in the purchase of shares in two plantation companies worth RM370 million.
Berita Harian reported that the statement was taken at the commission's headquarters.
MACC chief commissioner Abd Halim Aman said it was the former official's second day giving a statement.
The former CFO was arrested a day earlier before being released due to health reasons, and returned today to be questioned.
Halim added that the official would continue giving his statement at 10am tomorrow.
MACC was also supposed to record the statement of the statutory body's former chief executive officer, who was released after being arrested a day earlier as he was unwell.
The pair was arrested as part of MACC's probe into the royal commission of inquiry's (RCI) findings on Tabung Haji.
Separately, Bukit Aman has opened five investigation papers into alleged commercial offences uncovered in the RCI report, which was declassified last week.
No charges have been filed against any party in connection with the investigation so far.
