MACC wraps up statement recording from ex-CFO over RM370mil share purchase probe
Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said Friday marked the fourth and final day of questioning the former senior officer.

PUTRAJAYA – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has completed recording the statement of a former chief financial officer (CFO) of a company owned by a statutory body, who was called in to assist an investigation.
The probe concerns allegations of abuse of power in the purchase of shares in two plantation companies worth about RM370 million.
MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said today was the fourth and final day of statement recording from the former senior officer, following sessions that began on Tuesday.
"His statement recording session for this fourth day started at 9am and ended at 6.30pm.
"Today is the last day the MACC records the statement of the former senior officer," he said. (Quote translated from Bahasa Melayu.)
The commission has not named the individual concerned nor the companies involved in the share transactions. No charges have been brought against any party over the matter.
The former senior officer was summoned to assist the investigation. Under MACC procedure, a person called in for statement recording is not necessarily a suspect in a case.
Abd Halim did not outline the next steps in the investigation, including whether other individuals would be called or when the investigation papers would be referred to the Attorney General's Chambers.
