Tabung Haji to study NGO proposals for welfare of 9.8 million depositors

PETALING JAYA – Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has received a memorandum handed over by representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) during the Himpunan Aman Solidariti Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) TH gathering held at Menara TH today.
In a statement, TH said it would study all the views and proposals submitted, to help the organisation carry out continuous improvements for the welfare of more than 9.8 million depositors.
"TH greatly appreciates every view and proposal that has been conveyed. This reflects the sincere concern of the public in supporting the nation's hajj institution in safeguarding the interests of the ummah," it said. (Translated from Malay.)
Backs government action
TH also said it supported firm government action in dealing appropriately with the findings of the RCI.
According to the statement, TH has implemented more than 75 per cent of the RCI's recommendations and is continuing to work on the remaining improvement measures.
"The results can be seen in how TH's position today is far stronger than in 2018, on the back of continuous recovery efforts over the past eight years," it said.
The peaceful gathering was held at Menara TH, where NGO representatives submitted the memorandum to the fund's management.
