The Indonesian customs department said the trio were acting suspiciously upon arrival from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Berita Harian quoted CNN Indonesia as reporting.
They were ordered to undergo additional checks, leading to the discovery of substances believed to be drugs in their luggage, purses, pockets, shoes and medicine packets.
In total, the Indonesian authorities seized 2.4g of powder believed to be cocaine, 8.4g of pills believed to contain MDMA, and 16.9g of rolled tobacco believed to have been mixed with ketamine.
Separately, Bukit Aman narcotics crime investigation department director Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the arrest of the trio, saying they are Sabahans aged 30 to 39.
Hussein added that checks found two of them had criminal records for drug offences.
He said they had travelled to Indonesia for a holiday, and police believed the drugs were meant for their personal use as they were in small amounts.
